Syllabus: | Practical press photography, based on production of the Perth Independent or other publications and photo essays using digital technology. Students undertake theoretical analysis of press photographs, addressing issues of news values, realism and ideology. |

Unit Outcomes: | On successful completion of this unit, students will have- Applied photographic theory and visual literacy. Used 35mm cameras and basic digital equipment. The ability to select optimum available light conditions for location photography. Learnt the significance of picture editing and cropping images. Knowledge of the codes and conventions of photographic production. Learnt how to produce visually dynamic and expressive images for the benefit of the Perth Independent. |
