Syllabus: | An overview of the nature of communication and the role of culture and cross-cultural issues in regulating communication patterns and behaviour. Principles of communication, communicative competence, impression formation and management, and miscommunication. An insight into the effect of inter- and intra-cultural issues on communication. |

Unit Outcomes: | On successful completion of this unit, students will have - An increased understanding of the communication process. An awareness of the role of culture in communication and its impact on intercultural communication. |
