Syllabus: | Geography and Asian business. Introduction to the major socio-cultural aspects that have influenced the business environments of the Asia-Pacific rim countries. Cross-cultural examination of the historical, geographical, religious, cultural, social, linguistic and political dimensions of the business environment and practices in the region. |

Unit Outcomes: | On successful completion of this unit students will have - Considered the links between culture, society and business practices and systems, in the context of rapid economic growth and development in the Asia-Pacific region. Developed ideas and enhanced understandings in relation to the future of busines practices and systems in particular Asia-Pacific countries. Participated in the production of an in-depth written report and oral presentation, focusing on the issues of the business environment, in particular Asian countries or regions. Developed cross-cultural adjustment skills useful in conducting business within the Asia-Pacific region. Develop oral/written communication skills and self-confidence through seminar presentation, class discussions and project report. |
