Syllabus:

Examination of contemporary theories that underpin the creation and interpretation of objects that have been traditionally framed as craft. Analysis of the position of craft within the broader context of contemporary art, cultural studies and critical theory.
 

Unit Outcomes:

On successful completion of this unit, students will have- Knowledge of the various histories and theories pertaining to craft production and criticism. An understanding of contemporary issues in craft. Developed and employed appropriate skills to conduct a research project.
