Syllabus: | Introduction to critical concepts, models, approaches and procedures for planning and conducting evidence-based evaluations. Evaluations as a reporting and accountability strategy for managers and funding bodies. The role of evaluation and outcomes research in assessing the effectiveness of specific health and professional interventions, an assessment approaches and health outcomes from a clients perspective. |

Unit Outcomes: | Upon completion of this unit, students will be able to- Identify the critical concepts, models and procedures for developing and conducting evaluations and evidence-based research. Apply knowledge of the role of evaluation and evidence-based research forassessing the effectiveness of health interventions and basis for reporting and accountability strategies. Describe assessment approaches of health outcomes from a client's perspective and demonstrate skills in constructing outcomes measures. Apply knowledge and skills in conducting a feasible and technically sound needs assessment and evaluation study. |
