Syllabus: | Placements in assigned hospitals, community health centre, health services and other health care agencies. Activities include outpatient counselling in dietary modification and/or preventative nutrition, in-patient counselling and monitoring patient progress - community and public health activities, interaction with other allied health professionals and observations and assigned duties in catering placements. Clinical practice is undertaken over 4 weeks, full-time, 37.5 hours per week. |

Unit Outcomes: | Upon successful completion of this unit students will have demonstrated the ability to - accept and carry out the responsibilities of a dietitian and to apply nutritional knowledge to the professional activities of a practicing dietitian, and an ability to meet the national standards of competency for entry-level dietitians adopted by the Dietitians Association of Australia in 1993. |
