Syllabus: | Introduction to a range of treatment responses to individuals with drug related problems including social learning, 12 step and pharmacological approaches and examines the effectiveness of each approach as well as issues of treatment matching. |

Unit Outcomes: | On successful completion of this unit students will be able to - Explain the process of changing addiction behaviour. Describe appropriate responses to people at various stages of giving up. Describe a range of pharmacological interventions and their effectiveness. Demonstrate a range of other approaches and their effectiveness. |
