Syllabus: | Design an aquatic science research project relevant to local industry, explore the research process and become familiar with scientific presentation techniques. |

Unit Outcomes: | On completion of this unit students will have - Examined the research process as it relates to the aquatic sciences. Applied presentation techniques to a scientific project proposal. Reviewied statistics as it relates to data analysis for a specific aquatic science project. Developed an aquatic science research proposal relevant to local industry. Completed an annotated bibliography on the chosen research comprising a minimum of 20 citations. Conducted a detailed review of the literature to assist in setting research objectives and establishing the current body of knowledge for a chosen aspect of aquatic science. Considered experimental design options appropriate for meeting select research objectives. Developed a budget of all project costs for consideration by the supervisor. |
