Syllabus:

Application of advanced managerial and economic principles to the whole farm. Farm information systems - manual and computer based. The application of the management principles and skills to the preparation of a major farm plan for an actual situation.
 

Unit Outcomes:

On successful completion of this unit, students will have developed a business plan with a client. Analysed and described the environment and issues involved in a planning decision. Identified objectives with the business proprietors. Assessed the performance of the business. Developed, evaluated and presented alternative plans. Produced a detailed implementation plan. Demonstrated an understanding of the operation of a professional service, including - proposal writing and costing. Quality assurance. Business ethics. Developed and applied a set of criteria for assessing their own work.
