Syllabus: | Provides students with insight into and experience of publishing in the industry context. Possible topics include editing, locating and accessing audiences and markets, costing, distribution and illustration. Desktop publishing. Legal and ethical issues in publication. Copyright boundaries. The unit also involves academic supervision and related assignments. |

Unit Outcomes: | On successful completion of this unit students will have - Familiarised with and experienced a range of tasks involved in print and/or electronic publishing. These may include - structural and copy editing, layout and design, pagination, budgets, scheduling, writing and commissioning writers, proof reading, website design and other related processes. |
