Syllabus:

Laboratory and clinical practice in dental therapy procedures. Patient assessment, treatment planning, prevention and treatment methods for caries and periodontal disease. Record keeping, appointment scheduling. Restorative dentistry - classical and modified cavity preparations, insertion. Local analgesia. Dental radiography - intraoral and lateral oblique radiographs. Exodontia.
 

Unit Outcomes:

On successful completion of this unit students will have - Performed preclinical patient care procedures. Implemented appropriate occupational health work practices in the clinic. Performed patient assessment procedures. Documented patient records completely and accurately. Performed specific school dental therapy care for patients.
