Syllabus: | Three topics will be offered from the following list - power systems stability, contract administration, PLC and SCADA design, electricity industry, restructuring; power system protection, load forecasting, grid connection of renewables, high voltage cables, electricity supply industry restructuring, grid connection of renewables, introduction to power system protection. |

Unit Outcomes: | On successful completion of this unit students will gain an insight to key components of a power system, an understanding of operational and maintenance procedures, an awareness of the utility best practices and an understanding of the national and international standards. They will also obtain the ability to model a component of the power system, an awareness of the importance of planning, the ability to assess and calculate condition of the equipment and remnant life estimation and the ability to program PLC. |
