Syllabus:

One-dimensional heat conduction - Analytical methods, Thermal network, Fin analysis. Convection - Forced and natural convection, Convective heat transfer coefficient. Radiation - Shape factor, Blackbody radiation, Radiation thermal network. Analysis of heat exchangers.
 

Unit Outcomes:

On successful completion of this unit students will gain an introduction to fundamentals of basic heat transfer processes and develop analytical methods for heat transfer applications.
