Syllabus: | The Pathological Process. General pathological review. Disease processes of the systems, including the alimentary, genito-urinary, cardiovascular, respiratory, nervous and skeletal systems. The selection of appropriate imaging procedures. The head and neck, chest, abdomen and pelvis, skeletal and soft tissue, and tumour staging and metastatic development. |

Unit Outcomes: | On successful completion of this unit students will have developed an understanding of the parameters which influence the reliability of imaging procedures, the pathological processes commonly requested for imaging diagnosis and the reasons why these processes are portrayed and a thorough knowledge of the most desirable imaging procedures to perform for a particular pathology or clinical diagnosis and the correct order in which to perform these procedures. |
