Syllabus: | Hydrology - Introduction, hydrologic equilibrium. Measurement and presentation of hydrologic data. Statistic in hydrology. Stream flow and stream flow measurements. Yield analysis, rainfall and runoff. Flood estimation and urban hydrology. Public Works - Introduction to water and wastewater engineering. Introduction to surface water and groundwater hydraulics. Sources of water, storage, collection and forecasting demand. Water supply, water quality and water treatment. Wastewater collection, treatment and disposal. |

Unit Outcomes: | On completion of the unit the student will have a appreciation of elementary hydrological computational techniques related to design rainfall estimation, reservoir yield and design flood estimation. The student will also gain a appreciation of elementary concepts of water and wastewater engineering, including water and wastewater treatment. |
