Latest developments in blood services including automation, blood components and other products and total quality management.
 

Unit Outcomes:

On successful completion of this unit students will have - Developed a sound understanding of the broad areas of operation of modern transfusion services including donor issues, types of donations and blood-borne infectious diseases. Demonstrated the ability to describe the range of blood components available and their processing. Discussed product usage issues, automation and quality systems and alternative transfusion products. Demonstrated the ability to discuss likely future trends and issues in transfusion services.
