Syllabus:

Probability and probability distributions. Sampling and parameter estimation. Hypothesis testing for means and variances. Simple and multiple linear regression and correlation. Analysis of variance of single and multiple factors, factorial and partial factorial experiments, experimental design. Statistical process (quality) control.
 

Unit Outcomes:

On successful completion of this unit students will have gained an understanding of chemical engineering process analysis, modelling by statistical analysis and the practical solution of sets of linear and non-linear equations, numerical differentiation and integration and differential equations.
