Syllabus: | The study of heat transfer by conduction, convection and radiation in chemical process systems. Solution of heat transfer problems by analytical and numerical methods. Theoretical and practical aspects relevant to analysis and design of heat transfer equipment and heat exchangers. |

Unit Outcomes: | On completion of this unit, students will understand the salient characteristics, of the three modes of heat transfer, namely conduction, convection and radiation. Design different types of heat exchange equipment. Understand boiling, condensation and some aspects of combustion processes. Outcomes will reflect the level of the enrolled student at postgraduate level, ie certificate, diploma or masters. |
