Syllabus: | In consultation with supervisor, the student will develop a thesis proposal around a chosen topic of social policy, including a statement of research methodology, research objectives and research method. Undertake a literature review. Develop and implement a research project and thesis writing. |

Unit Outcomes: | On successful completion of this unit, students will have- Developed and written a research proposal around a chosen social policy topic. Developed the necessary skills to complete a literature review, to conduct, analyse and report on apiece of independent research. An understanding of the research process, particularly the diverse and interconnecting philosophies that guide the practice of research, of ethical issues as these emerge in the conduct of research. Had the opportunity to disseminate the research findings through the written dissertation and oral presentations. |
