Syllabus:

Systematic instructional design. Analysing needs and learning tasks. Determining objectives and selecting content. Flexible learning. Examining instructional materials representing various levels of technological sophistication. Processes of instructional resource development. Devising and incorporating learning strategies. Supporting learners and learning processes. Influence of physical design and layout on instructional effectiveness. Evaluation and revision.
 

Unit Outcomes:

On successful completion of this unit students will have- Analysed and characterised an instructional situation in terms of its learner, content and context. Taken account of the implications of perceptual and cognitive processing capabilities for the design of instructional materials. Used appropriate computer hardware and software as an integral part of the instructional design process. Applied instructional design processes to develop learning resources that address an identified instructional need.
