Syllabus: | The Criminal Code of Western Australia and comparative legislation. Law, order, politics, justice and protection. Defining sexual crimes. Images of the sexual criminal. Profiling the sex offender. Punishment of the sex offender. Working with police and prison staff. |

Unit Outcomes: | On successful completion of this unit students will have - Demonstrated a knowledge of the relevant sections of the Criminal Code and other legislation. Developed an understanding of the concepts of law, punishment, protection and the way sex offenders perceive themselves. developed knowledge and skills in the techniques of profiling. Demonstrated a basic knowledge of the penal system. |
