Syllabus: | Information will be presented through the internet and discussed via a chat-room established for the students on the course. The syllabus will examine issues such as managing employees, negotiation and conflict resolution skills, working with a Board andfunding agencies, working with artists and managing an event, which will be surveyed in the workplace with the assistance of a mentor who will visit the student at the institution or agency where they work or are on placement to provide hands-on assistance and advice. |

Unit Outcomes: | On successful completion of this unit, students will have- Demonstrated knowledge of organisational theories. Demonstrated an understanding of the structure of arts organisations through undertaking case studies. Demonstrated a knowledge of structural bureaucracy and developed skills in working with Boards and funding agencies, reporting skills and documenting and presenting ideas. Demonstrated an appropriate level of independent judgement, imagination and commitment to projects. |
