Syllabus:

An introduction to the legal system of Western Australia, courts, tribunals and legal proceedings. The law as it relates to social welfare practice, for example - family law, welfare law, criminal law, consumer protection, workers compensation, child protection, mental health legislation and administrative law.
 

Unit Outcomes:

On successful completion of this unit, students will have - Developed the ability to work alongside legal personnel - be they lawyers, court officers, police. Gained an insight into the way the law is and how it works. Developed the ability to competently discuss legal issues with the specialists.
