Syllabus: | Looks at systems thinking in a futures context. Systems analysis and hard systems thinking, development of soft systems thinking, systems based methodologies and building conceptual models are covered as well as application of a systems approach to the future. |

Unit Outcomes: | On successful completion of this unit students will have - Developed an understanding of the background that led to the development of systems thinking and the Soft Systems Methodology. Gained an understanding of the Soft Systems Methodology and its applications. Gained sufficient knowledge to be able to apply this in real-world situations. Used creative systems thinking skills to apply to messy, soft and highly problematic situations where the future objective is not clear. |
