Syllabus:

Metallurgical processes for the production of metals and products. Processes of economic importance to Australia, such as nickel, copper, gold, silicon, mineral sands, alumina, iron, lead and zinc. Compulsory field trip to processing plants.
 

Unit Outcomes:

On successful completion of this unit, students will have - An appreciation for the scope of metallurgical operations in Australia and the economic importance of metals to Western Australia and the nation.
