Syllabus:

Historical and current trends in relevant theory and research, knowledge development. Nursing theories and conceptual analyses. Positivism - postpositivist shift, introduction to postmodernism.
 

Unit Outcomes:

On successful completion of this unit students will have - Demonstrated the ability to analyse historical and current trends in the evolution of nursing science. Evaluated theories and conceptual frameworks for their heuristic value to nursing. Evaluated selected scientific strategies for their appropriateness in the study of nursing phenomenon.
