Properties of Plane Areas - Centroids, 1st and 2nd Moments of Area, Product SMA, Polar SMA. Bending Moment and Shear diagrams - Distributed and point loads including application of couples. Bending Stresses - Prismatic beams. Section Modulus. Calculation from BHP catalogue data. Combined bending and axial stresses. Problem Analysis. Team entry into the Warman/IEaust Design and Build Competition. Bolted Joints. Welded Joints. Power Screws.
