Syllabus:

The ideology of urban and regional planning. The evolution of planning instruments and agencies in Western Australia. Case study analysis and assessment of planning activity.
 

Unit Outcomes:

On successful completion of this unit, students will have developed an understanding of the evolution of the planning system in Western Australia. Gained insight into contemporary planning practices and processes. Developed an interest in particular components of the planning system. Located planning activity within a broad institutional setting. Identified the strengths and weaknesses of the Western Australian planning system.
