Syllabus:

An introduction to the meaning and purpose of planning. Description of the evolution of planning thought and practice. Explanation of the characteristics of the planning system of Western Australia.
 

Unit Outcomes:

Upon completion of this unit students will have developed an understanding of the origins of planning (philosophy and purpose), the evolution of planning in Western Australia and current planning in Western Australia. Gained understanding of subdivision, suburban, local, metropolitan and non metropolitan planning. Developed an understanding of transport and rural planning, and urban design.
