Syllabus: | Review of approaches to policy development in government at local, regional and state levels and examination of specific policy problems as practical examples. Exposure to case studies illustrating the key stages of formulation, evaluation, implementation and monitoring in spheres related to urban and regional planning. Preparation of a policy statement for a specific planning agency. |

Unit Outcomes: | On successful completion of this unit, students will have had experience in the practice of formulation, evaluation and implementation of policies which relate to urban and regional planning issues at site, district, regional, state and national levels. Fostered and developed their independence of thought, investigative capacity and analytical skills. |
