Syllabus:

Major safety risks in mines. Management of mine safety. Mine rescue - policies, procedures and practice. Mine regulations - development and present status worldwide. Western Australian mining regulations. Enforcement of regulations and mines inspections.Professional ethics.
 

Unit Outcomes:

On successful completion of this unit students will have an understanding of - Ethics and duty of care. The importance of safety on the mine site. Risk management in mining. The Mines Safety and Inspection Act 1994 and the Mines Safety and Regulations 1995.
