Unit Outcomes: | On successful completion of this unit students will have - demonstrated an understanding of modern labour economics and the way in which it is applied in the public policy environment knowlege of key labour market issues, especially in the East Asian region, understood the nature of the dominent paradigm in labour economics and how it is applied to specific labour market issues, will have understood the main empirical methods used by labour economists. Critically evaluated mainstream labour economics by drawing, in particular, on the insights provided by other theoretical modles, can access and utilise current sources of data on labour market issuesm. Participated in and facilitated debates and discussions on important labour market issues. Summarised and critically evaluated relatively complex journal articles on labour economics and labour market issues. |
