Syllabus:

Theories and approaches to the study of the acquisition of skills to perform occupational roles throughout the lifespan. Stages and transitions throughout the life cycle in sensory-motor, cognitive, emotional and social development. Utilisation of methods of assessing and recording development levels and progress.
 

Unit Outcomes:

Upon completion of this unit, students will be able to - Describe and evaluate the major theoretical approaches to occupational role development. Describe and relate the major stages of human development through the lifespan to the development of occupational roles. Accurately observe and correctly record typical development. Analyse occupational performance in typically developing individuals and compare with the developmental literature.
