Syllabus: | Further develops four essential language skills of speaking, listening, reading and writing through taking part in communicative and cultural awareness activities. Students will also be introduced to current research on Chinese culture and society through lectures and audio-visual presentations. |

Unit Outcomes: | On successful completion of this unit students will have- Understood and conducted basic greetings and conversations in Chinese (Mandarin). Read simple messages in simplified and/or traditional Chinese script. Written simple messages in simplified and/ortraditional Chinese script. Understood social systems in Chinese speaking countries to a level that will enable effective use of Chinese wihtin situations covered in this unit. |
