Syllabus:

An introduction to Aboriginal community management and development practice and how this relates to the student's role. Key concepts within the courses are explored, including - Aboriginal terms of reference, community management and community development core principles. Students also explore aspects of working in cross-cultural settings and the implications for their work.
 

Unit Outcomes:

On successful completion of this unit, students will have- Built pictures of own positions and roles in family,community and work. Explored what it means to be an Aboriginal Community Management and Development Fractioned and relates to own role. Explored introductory aspects of working in Indigenous contexts and the implications for own work. Explored introductory concepts of community development and their relevance to current roles and contexts.
