Syllabus: | Critical examination of the practices of women artists and how women have been represented in art. Feminist theories and their critiques and how these relate to artistic practices, with attention given to historical perspectives as well as contemporary debates. |

Unit Outcomes: | On successful completion of this unit, students will have- An understanding of gender theories and criticism. The ability to analyse the implications of gender issues for the production, dissemination and reception of visual arts. Developed critical appreciation of concepts of involved in the cultural production of meaning in the visual arts. |
