Syllabus:

Introduction to basic processes occurring in plant and animal cells. These will be processes that keep cells (and organisms) alive and functioning. The processes involved in passing hereditary information from one generation to the next. Laboratory work.
 

Unit Outcomes:

On successful completion of this unit, students will have an understanding of the scientific method. Cell structure and function. The use and care of microscopes. Measurement of microscopic objects. Interpretation of scale on diagrams. The structure of DNA. The process of cell division.
