Syllabus: | An introduction to the Korean language covering reading and writing of the Hangul script, pronunciation, basic grammar and vocabulary. Development of conversation skills through communicative method using interactive activities and audio-visual materials. Introduction of sociocultural features of the Korean language. |

Unit Outcomes: | On successful completion of this unit, students will have - Understood basic Korean greetings, instructions and conversations. Used Korean within a limited range of situations and vocabulary. Read and written simple instructions and messages in the hangul script. Developed an understanding of the Korean culture and society to a level that will enable effective use of Korean within the situations covered in the unit. |
