Syllabus:

Develops understanding of financial markets and institutions, sources of finance, dividend decisions and capital structure, cost of capital, project evaluation, current asset management, and international financial management.
 

Unit Outcomes:

On successful completion of this unit, students will have - Understood value creation in the context of effective business management. Assessed firm values using differing analytical tools. Understood the relationship of risk and return. Implemented methods to quantify financial risk and techniques for the control of risk. Understood the measurement and significance of a firm's cost of capital. Appreciated the role of financial markets in both providing funds to corporations and in acting as a control mechanism. Identified the factors contributing to dividend decisions.
