Syllabus:

Theoretical perspectives of the reading process, including models of reading, psycholinguistics and sociolinguistics, factors influencing reading development. Textual analysis. Instructional implications of the reading process. Current research into topics such as metacognition and reading, comprehension instruction, curriculum development, assessment of reading, analysis of instructional materials, current issues in reading instruction.
