Syllabus: | Fish physiology and anatomy of fish. Revision of the main taxonomic groups. Comparative physiology and anatomy of fish. Life history and dispersal mechanisms of selected fishes. Reproductive strategies. Fisheries. Introduced species. |

Unit Outcomes: | On successful completion of this unit, students will be able to describe and explain relationships between structure and function of fish, from physiological and anatomical points of view. They will have gained familiarity with fish biology, population dynamics, and commercial fisheries and their economic importance via the study of selected case studies in commercial fisheries and aquaculture. |
