Syllabus: | Significant figures, precision and accuracy. Plane triangle solutions. Radiation, intersection and resection on the plane. Traverse computations and the Bowditch adjustment. Areas of rectilinear figures. Basic survey computations using plane coordinates:forward and reverse geodetic problems on the plane. Missing elements. Road intersections. Simple subdivision calculations. Curves - simple, compound and reverse. |

Unit Outcomes: | On completion of this unit students will have - Developed the ability to use trigonometric principles to solve basic Surveying problems and the ability to carry out the necessary calculations associated with basic surveying procedures of mapping and positioning points on the Earth's surface. |
