Syllabus: | This is one of the four units of the English Language Bridging Course which develops competence in writing skills for successful tertiary study. It also aims to develop students research skills to enable the writing of a research essay with a clear thesis and arguments supported by appropriate research and references. |

Unit Outcomes: | On successful completion of this unit students will have - The ability to write well-organised, unified, coherent paragraphs. Drafted and redrafted writing texts by editing and correcting. Structured writing in a clear, logical and coherent manner. Completed an essay of approximately 1800 words, demonstrating an ability to synthesise material from appropriate sources and use academic referencing conventions. |
