Overview of IP, TCP, and UDP. Introduction to socket programming. TCP sockets. TCP client-server. I/O mulitplexing. Socket options. UDP sockets. Name and address Conversions. Nonblocking I/O. Introduction to threads. TCP using threads. Client-Server design alternatives.
