Syllabus:Advanced study of clinical classification of diseases and procedures utilising ICD-10-AM. Clinical classification of diseases and procedures utilising ICD-9-CM. Advanced use of encoder and grouper. Alternate classification systems and nomenclatures. Study and use of Australian coding benchmarking audit and data quality.
 
Unit Outcomes: On successful completion of this unit, students will have- Displayed an in-depth understanding of the structure and convention of ICD-10AM classification system through coding complex clinical conditions and allocating appropriate diagnosis related groupcodes using the 3M Codefinder software. Resolved coding problems using ICA-10CM. Undertaken a coding benchmark audit in accordance with industry standards.
