Syllabus: | Planning and developing a new hospital's health record service. Introductory ergonomics. Committee principles and practice. Quality improvement techniques and management - total quality management, questionnaire design, utilisation review, performance and clinical indicators. |

Unit Outcomes: | On successful completion of this unit students will be able to - Demonstrate an understanding of how health information management systems, functions and ergonomic principles are integrated in the design of a health record department. Apply problem-solving and analytical skills to develop a planning brief for a new hospital's health information management service. Display an understanding of quality improvement principles through the design of a patient satisfaction questionnaire. |
