Syllabus: | To develop a stronger graphic communication skills base by the utilisation of photographic and digital image generation. The Photographic component focuses on broadening core abilities in art direction and the production of photographic images. It will establish versatility in producing stronger visual ideas. Students will investigate image composition, will focus their abilities in paying attention to detail within the constructed image, and undertake an intermediate level of lightning and camera technique. |

Unit Outcomes: | On successful completion of this unit (Photographic Component) students will have- Developed an understanding of the application of Photography in Design and Communication systems. Developed analytical skills in photographic image construction. DevelopedLocation Photography skills. Developed Studio Photographic acquisition and Lightning skills. Produced a range of of competent photographic images for use within a graphic device. On successful completion of this unit (Digital Rendering Component) students will have - Developed an alternative to marker rendering within a digital environment. Developed basic colouring techniques in Adobe Photoshop. Understood tool selections in Adobe Photoshop when rendering various surface textures. Developed techniques for representing depth of field in two-dimensional environment. Developed final mock-up visuals, ready for client approval in a design industry environment. |
