Syllabus:Understanding of the major issues involved with moving water within aquaculture systems.
 
Unit Outcomes: On successful completion of this unit, students will have- Discussed different types of pumps and become familiar with their appropriate application. Disassembled and re-build pumps used in aquaculture. Examined the construction of air-pumps used in aquaculture. Computed the power requirements of aquaculture pumps and assess the costs of different pumping system options. Be made aware of health and safety aspects of pumping systems.
