Syllabus:Provides a framework for thesis methodology. The focus will be on qualitative methodology, qualitative research methods, data collection, data analysis and technology to manage qualitative data.
 
Unit Outcomes: On successful completion of this unit students will have- Discussed and debated the Positvist/Interpretivist paradigms. Produced a methodology appropriate to a particular research problem. Discussed appropriate methods of collecting, analysing and presenting data. Prepared and conducted a piece of either desk or field research. Reflected upon the unit's progress through the use of an appropriate 'reflection' device. Prepared student for candidacy of doctoral studies.
