Syllabus: | An introduction to rock forming minerals, and expands on techniques developed in Geology 111, and in the identification of minerals in hand specimen. It examines in detail igneous rocks and processes and interpretation of igneous rock textures. |

Unit Outcomes: | On successful completion of this unit, students will have the ability to identify common minerals and rocks with a basic understanding of the origins of various common igneous rock types. |
